Cross Coloring Sheet

Coloring isn’t just a fun way to pass the time and keep your little ones occupied. It has real, educational value for children of many ages. Here are three simple ways you can use this coloring sheet of a stained glass window cross to help children grow intellectually and spiritually.

1. Color Mania

Encourage children to use as many different colors as they can when coloring. Ask them to name the colors when they’re done.

2. Boundary Challenge

If you have more than one child, let them compete to see who can finish coloring first. Handicap the race so that older kids have to wait to begin. Try adding five penalty seconds whenever a color crosses the border from one cell into another.

3. Cross Talk

Let the cross be a conversation starter. Talk about why Jesus had to die on the cross. Read one of the crucifixion narratives from the Gospels. Discuss Easter and why it’s important.
