Give your tree another set of wings with this salt crystal angel ornament craft idea! Gather your supplies and follow these steps:
Supplies Needed:
- 3 glass Mason jars
- Table salt
- Glue
- 3 clothespins
- Measuring cup
- Pipe cleaners
- String
- Scissors
- 3 buttons
- Spoon
Step 1:
Form the pipe cleaners into the shown angel shape. Make sure that it will easily fit through the opening of the Mason jar. Leave the excess pipe cleaner on the back and bend it up about a half inch away from the angel shape.
Step 2:
Put two cups of water in each Mason jar. Heat in the microwave for 3 minutes each. Carefully remove the mason jar from the microwave (it will be hot) and slowly mix in 1/2 cup of table salt. Stir well, until most of the salt has dissolved. Clip the clothespin onto the bent end of the pipe cleaner angel. Gently lower into the water and salt solution so the entire angel shape is submerged, and rest the clothespin across the rim of the jar. Place in a sunny window for three days.
Step 3:
Take your salt crystal angels out of the solution and allow to dry completely. Cut off the excess pipe cleaner at the back of the angel. Cut three 8″ strings. Loop the string through the openings of the buttons and tie together at the end. Glue the button “halo” to the top of the salt crystal. Enjoy your new salt crystal angel ornaments!
