VERY opiniated text

I love the layout of the history curriculum. It's easy to read, colorful pages, and an open and go book. But unfortunately Abeka mixes opinion in with the text. A history book should be free of opinion and be solely facts. I wish I could add photos to this review. They constantly say "America is the greatest country in the world" and "America is g...Read More

reat." That is not facts. I have the grade 1 and grade 2 history curriculum and I can no longer keep using it because they can't keep opinions out of their workbook. I would expect a Christian curriculum to be more facts based. Read Less

A Great Resource

Purchased this book for our homeschooling this year. It is the source our daughter would have used at the Christian School we intend on sending her to. Very colorful illustrations. A great start to many lessons to be in Social Studies. She's excited to have her own workbook.

Q: New to Abeka curriculum.. Aren't there any workbooks for Science grade 1 & Social Studies grade 1 or do you just read the lesson and that is it?

3rd Grade video lessons

I don’t know what our family would do without the videos! I grew up only using the textbooks- -and while they are full of information, the videos open up a whole new world of knowledge! Great teachers!

My only complaint is that the preview of the material doesn't include a sufficient number of pages to really get a feel for the content. Most publishers allow for more pages to be viewed. Since you don't have placement tests (which would also be a significant improvement for homeschoolers), it is critical that we be able to see more of the content...Read More

Helpful tool

I use the Abeka website anytime I need to purchase curriculum. I also use it as a reference. Our teachers use the pro teach videos to help them in the classroom and ensure they are getting the material across to the students.
