A big chunk of the flash cards and concept cards showed up uncut, so I spent several hours of time I’ll never get back cutting those in quarters or halves. The writing curriculum specifically says to only write my letters as I am to teach my daughter, but the vowel chart has the lowercase a listed as an upside down g, not as a circle with a line down the right side (as we are to teach them to form their lowercase a). My daughter was like, “I don’t know what that letter is, mom.” There’s a huge disconnect in their font choices for the different alphabet flashcards. I understand they’re going to need to know the funky variations, but this is kindergarten, it should be kept simpler and more standardized throughout all the flashcards/workbooks. I’m honestly not sure I’ll use Abeka again. I picked a complete curriculum because I wanted simplicity in this first year we have ever homeschooled, but it is complicated and there are a lot of holes in this kit that are starting our days off with frustration.
